Music production in real time. Alexandra Cárdenas and Ryan Kirkbride performance. Alexandra Cárdenas uses the programming environment SuperCollider and the TidalCycles language to describe the patterns of her music, while Ryan Kirkbride presents the Live Coding language FoxDot, combining the manipulation of samples and digitally synthesized sounds.

Artist Talk with Rudolfo Quintas / 2:30pm

Darkless is a sound performance piece played by blind and visually impaired people presented at Lisboa Soa festival, in 2016. From this project as a case study Rudolfo Quintas will talk about the role and relevance of a new set of artistic proposals that challenge the experience of art, test new imagery and expand the possibilities within the field of contemporary art.

Knowledge-Intensive Based Art in Society / 4:00pm

The seminar on knowledge-intensive based art is one first step to build-up a think-tank where artists, technologists, scientists and industry can get together for brainstorms on many issues, such as complexity and control, power and cooperation within the growing galaxy of knowledge, or intelligent machines and artificial life.

Speakers: Adelaide Ginga (MNAC – Museu do Chiado curator), José Oliveira (New Media investigator) and Leonel Moura (artist and theorist).

Moderator: António Cerveira Pinto (artist and theorist, concept director of The New Art Fest).
